Nigeria suffered yet another collapse of its national electricity grid on Wednesday, disrupting power supply across the country.

Data from the Transmission Company of Nigeria showed that power generation dropped drastically from 2,917.83 megawatts to as low as 1.5 megawatts between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Following the outage, the “Nigeria National Grid” X handle, which monitors electricity distribution, confirmed the incident, stating that “system restoration is in progress.”

As of the time of filing this report, electricity distribution companies (DisCos) had yet to issue updates on the situation.

Details are expected later.
