The Lagos State Police Command has begun investigating the deaths of two young men whose bodies were discovered on Tuesday morning in a canal along LASU–Igando Road, Iba, Lagos.

The victims, whose identities were yet to be confirmed as of press time, were found with their hands bound behind their backs and blue nylon bags tied around their necks, suggesting they may have been tortured and suffocated before being dumped.

Residents described the discovery as disturbing. One eyewitness, Samuel Odutayo, said the scene hinted at ritual undertones. “The bodies looked too clean, as though they were killed elsewhere.

Their hands were tied, and nylon bags were used to choke them. It appeared they were tortured before death,” he said.

The incident has stirred anxiety in the community, already grappling with a surge in cult-related violence despite recent police crackdowns and the redeployment of divisional police officers.

Lagos State Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Babaseyi B. Oluseyi, confirmed the case, assuring that investigations were underway to determine the circumstances and track down those responsible.
