Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has praised President Bola Tinubu for lifting the emergency rule in Rivers State, describing the move as a reaffirmation of the president’s commitment to peace and democracy.

In a statement released on Wednesday in Abuja by his spokesman, Lere Olayinka, Wike said Tinubu’s decisive action had not only stabilized Rivers but also renewed the people’s confidence in his leadership.

The minister commended Rivers residents for their faith in the president and their support for his efforts to steer the country toward progress and development.

Wike further urged political actors and stakeholders in the state to work in unity, stressing that the collective interest of the people must come first.

He also cautioned those he described as “fifth columnists” against exploiting crises for personal gain, warning that Rivers would henceforth only be associated with “peace, progress, and development.
