We’re concerned about your safety, Ondo govt tells indigenes in Middle East

The Ondo State Government has expressed concern over the safety of its indigenes residing in the Middle East and other conflict-prone regions across the world, assuring them of its solidarity amid rising tensions.

In a statement issued on behalf of the state government, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Diaspora Matters, Oluyemi Fasipe, said the administration was mindful of the difficult conditions many Ondo indigenes are currently facing abroad.

Fasipe noted that living in areas affected by war and unrest requires courage and resilience, stressing that the government understands the emotional and psychological toll such uncertainty can impose on families far from home.

The statement partly reads, “To every Ondo indigene living in the Middle East and in other parts of the world currently facing the realities of war and unrest, please know that you are constantly in our thoughts and prayers. We understand that these are not easy times. Waking up each day in an environment filled with uncertainty takes courage. Living far from home under such conditions requires strength that not everyone can truly understand.

“Even though distance separates us, you remain a vital part of Ondo State. Your contributions, your sacrifices, and your commitment to building better lives for yourselves and your families make us proud. Many of you left home in search of opportunities, to support loved ones, and to represent our state with dignity. In moments like this, we want you to feel the full weight of our solidarity and support.

“We are deeply concerned about your safety and wellbeing. Please continue to prioritize your security. Stay informed, follow the guidance of local authorities, and maintain close contact with Nigerian embassies and official channels where you reside. Your lives are precious, not only to your immediate families but to all of us back home.

“As sons and daughters of Ondo State, we are known for resilience, faith, and determination. Those qualities have carried our people through difficult times before, and they will carry you through this season as well. Hold on to hope. Lean on one another. Stay united as a community wherever you are.

“The Ondo State Government stands firmly with you. We pray earnestly for peace to return swiftly to every troubled region. May stability be restored. May fear give way to calm. And may each of you be kept safe until brighter days come.

“No matter how far you may be, Ondo State remains your home. Our doors, our hearts, and our prayers are always open to you. We look forward to the day when peace prevails everywhere and we can celebrate together again in safety and joy.
