A landlord, Abbas Abdulrahim, has dragged his tenant, Lawal Saleh, before an Upper Customary Court in Kaduna, seeking to recover possession of his house and unpaid rent amounting to N325,000.

Represented by his counsel, Kehinde Oyeniran, Abdulrahim urged the court on Monday to compel Saleh to vacate the property located at No. 20 Nuhu Bamalli Close, off Governor Road, and to settle nine months’ outstanding rent.

Despite being served through substituted means, the defendant was absent in court.

Presiding Judge Patience Musa adjourned the matter to October 2 for hearing.
