The Ondo State Government has announced a five-day closure of the Ilesa–Akure–Owo expressway at Onyearugbulem/Shagari junction to allow for work on the ongoing flyover project.

According to the Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Engr. Ayorinde Abiola Olawoye, the closure will run from Sunday, October 5, to Friday, October 10, 2025.

He explained that the measure became necessary to enable the casting and placement of pre-stressed beams on the project.

“Adequate arrangements had been made for the diversion of traffic for the period of this exercise.

“We regret any inconvenience caused by the closure and appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve our infrastructure. Our EASE is working!” Olawoye said.

The commissioner assured that traffic officers would be on ground to guide motorists during the period.
