A resident of Iyana Isashi in the Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State has been killed by gunmen days after an altercation at a nightclub.

The victim, identified only as Alex and popularly known as Fleximore, was attacked around 8 p.m. last Friday while heading out to meet a friend.

Witnesses said two men on a motorcycle accosted him and one of them shot him at close range.

Residents rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, where he remained in a coma until Wednesday morning when he was confirmed dead.

“He had just returned from work when he stepped out again. On his way, he was stopped by two men on a bike. One pulled a gun and shot him.

We rushed him to the hospital, but he didn’t survive,” a community member told our correspondent.

Another resident, Quadri, revealed that Alex had been involved in a heated confrontation at a nightclub the day before the attack. “It started as an argument and escalated into a fight.

Alex was known to be easygoing, so people suspect the shooting may have been connected to that incident,” he said.

Police spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, said she was yet to receive a formal report but promised to confirm with the divisional police officer in the area.

Communities along the Lagos–Badagry Expressway have been grappling with frequent cult-related violence in recent months.

In August, unidentified gunmen shot and killed a passenger in a commercial bus near Okoafo, raising further concerns about insecurity in the area.

Arrangements are underway for Alex’s burial.
