Operatives of the Gombe State Police Command have recovered large quantities of illicit drugs following a raid on a suspected criminal hideout behind the Gombe Local Government Shopping Complex.
The operation, which took place around 9 p.m. on October 10, 2025, was part of the command’s ongoing effort to curb drug abuse and related crimes across the state.
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, who confirmed the incident in a statement, said the suspects fled the scene upon sighting the approaching patrol team, abandoning several hard drugs and other illicit substances.
Items recovered during the operation included quantities of Suck and Die, Tramadol, and Diazepam tablets, all of which were taken to the police station for further investigation.
Abdullahi noted that investigations were ongoing to identify and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
Commissioner of Police, Bello Yahaya, commended the operatives for their swift response and reiterated the command’s commitment to ridding Gombe State of criminal elements and drug-related offences.
