Bauchi—The Bauchi State Police Command has successfully arrested six suspected kidnappers and rescued three victims who were abducted from Euga village in Toro Local Government Area.

The development was confirmed on Wednesday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Wakil.

According to him, the rescue operation followed a distress call received on September 29, 2025, reporting that unknown gunmen had abducted three men identified as Idi Umar, Idi Lawan, and Musa Lawal.

“Upon receiving the report, a coordinated response involving the Toro Area Command, Toro Division, and Nabordo Division, alongside local security partners, was immediately activated,” SP Wakil said.

He added that the joint security team tracked the suspects to the outskirts of the village and conducted a professional operation that led to the safe and unharmed rescue of the victims.

The police have identified the arrested suspects as Abubakar Usman, Adamu Alo, Abubakar Aliyu, Umar Habu, Abubakar Mamman Abubakar, and Shehu Sambo.

The rescued victims have been reunited with their families, while investigations are ongoing to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the abduction.

SP Wakil noted that the suspects are cooperating with investigators and will be transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) in Bauchi for profiling before facing prosecution.

Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, commended officers for their swift action and urged residents to remain vigilant.

He further encouraged the public to provide credible information to assist security agencies in maintaining peace across Bauchi State.
