Shock has gripped residents of Ohirigwe Village in Oju Local Government Area of Benue State following the gruesome murder of a 15-year-old boy, identified as Sunday Ela, whose decapitated body was discovered on a farm.

Community sources said the incident occurred on October 15 when one John Adima, a native of the village said to be residing in Ondo State, allegedly invited the teenager to work with him on his farm.

However, Adima reportedly returned home alone after the visit and later fled the community to an unknown destination.

Worried by the boy’s failure to return, villagers organized a search, fearing something terrible had happened.

Their fears were confirmed when they found Sunday’s beheaded body lying lifeless on the farm.

Security personnel have since launched an investigation to uncover the motive behind the killing and track down the fleeing suspect.

A community elder described the murder as “barbaric and heartbreaking,” urging authorities to ensure justice is served and restore peace in the area.
