The Charakids Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has awarded scholarships to seven indigent students of Anglican Grammar School, Ijare, in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State, in recognition of their excellent academic performance during the 2024/2025 session.
Presenting the awards on behalf of the foundation at the school premises on Friday, Mr. Olamilekan Ogunsimide, a member of the Planning and Logistics Team, said the gesture was aimed at rewarding diligence and encouraging academic excellence.
Ogunsimide explained that the scholarship awards were in two categories: full and partial.
Three students received full scholarships worth ₦120,000 each, while four others got partial scholarships valued at ₦40,000 each.
According to him, the funds cover school fees, uniforms, textbooks, notebooks, school bags, and sandals.
He added that the beneficiaries, drawn from Senior Secondary School 1 and 2, were selected by the school authorities based on their academic performance.
“This is our little way of contributing to the growth of education in our society.
We believe that hard work deserves to be celebrated, and these students represent the bright future we all hope for,” Ogunsimide said.
He urged the beneficiaries to remain focused and see the gesture as motivation to work harder, while also calling on the government at all levels to give more priority to education.
In her remarks, the school’s principal, Mrs. Aduke Adeyosoye, commended Charakids Foundation for its generosity, noting that such initiatives ease the financial burden on parents and inspire students to take their studies seriously.
“This kind of support is timely and impactful. It encourages students to do better and relieves parents who struggle to pay school fees,” Adeyosoye said.
One of the parents, Mrs. Fadeyomi Sileola, expressed gratitude to the foundation, describing the ₦120,000 scholarship her child received as a major relief for her family.
“I didn’t have the opportunity to go to school, but I know the value of education. This support means so much to us.
I pray that God blesses Charakids Foundation and its members,” she said.
The beneficiaries also thanked the foundation and pledged to remain committed to their studies while serving as ambassadors of Charakids Foundation.
