The Adamawa State Police Command has taken custody of a kidnapped victim, Abdullahi Usman, who was discovered bound and abandoned in a bush at Viniklang, Girei Local Government Area, near Yola.
Police spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, who confirmed the incident in a statement yesterday, said the rescue followed a distress call from one Adamu Shugaba, who reported hearing groans from an uncompleted building at Jabbore, Viniklang.
On arrival at the scene, officers found the victim tied with pieces of cloth around his hands and legs.
He was rescued and taken to a hospital for medical examination.
Nguroje said the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, commended the Divisional Police Officer and his team for their swift response and directed the Anti-Kidnapping Unit to take over the investigation.
He assured that the command would intensify efforts to apprehend those behind the abduction and bring them to justice.
