The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) chapter, has suspended its industrial action, clearing the path for academic activities to resume on campus.

The union’s chairman, Comrade Bola Oshodi, confirmed the suspension in a telephone interview with

The Hope, noting that the decision was reached in the overall interest of the university community.

Oshodi said, “For now we have suspended the strike, everything is based on the agreement we had with the University management. Management has been very supportive too, and we understand.

“We are still been owed one month salary, but based on our love for the system and our students, we have resolved to suspend the strike.”

The union is expected to issue further directives to its members as the resumption process begins.
