Combined security operatives have killed notorious bandit, Kachalla Na’Allah, in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State, in a coordinated offensive aimed at dismantling criminal networks in the area.
A security source confirmed the development to journalists in Sokoto on Saturday, stating that Na’Allah was shot dead on Friday during a joint operation.
“The suspect was intercepted and neutralised between Girnashe and Kuka Tara villages, under Tsabre Ward of Isa Local Government Area,” the source said.
According to the source, the operation was carried out by a joint team of mobile police operatives and community guards, with support from the Nigerian Army.
Na’Allah was said to be a cousin of a notorious bandit kingpin, Ibrahim Chimmo, who is believed to be operating within the Sububu Forest axis of the state.
“The operation represents another step in disrupting the leadership and operational structure of banditry in the region,” the source added.
The development comes days after troops of the Nigerian Army’s 8 Division neutralised another bandit leader, Kachalla Kallamu, in Sabon Birnin Local Government Area.
Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to Governor Ahmad Aliyu on security matters, Col. Ahmad Usman (rtd), has commended security agencies for what he described as sustained successes in the fight against banditry across the state.
