Members of the Rivers State House of Assembly have presented a brand new car to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in what they described as a Christmas gesture.
As reported by Daily Post, the presentation was made on Saturday in Port Harcourt, the state capital, where the Speaker of the House, Martins Amaewhule, handed over the keys of the vehicle to the former governor.
The lawmakers, who described Wike as a benefactor and political leader, said the gift was meant to appreciate his continued support and leadership.
During the brief ceremony, Amaewhule asked the minister to see members of the House as his political family and assured him of their continued loyalty and support.
He said: “As part of Christmas, as part of the celebration we brought a little token to mark this Christmas for the year 2025, so that by 2026 we will be waiting for you. Your Excellency now that you have started it you won’t stop.
“By 2026 we will be waiting for you and hopefully our wives will save more money to buy a better gift.
“On behalf of members, on behalf of our spouses and children we present to you keys to a Toyota 2025 Camry.
“We know that you have plenty already but just add this one to the ones you already have.”
