Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has felicitated with two prominent citizens and party chieftains on the occasions of their milestone birthdays, praising their service to the state, community, and nation.

In a goodwill message, the Governor congratulated Hon. Sunday Ifedayo Abegunde, popularly known as Abena, on his 71st birthday.

Abegunde, who serves as the Director of Corporate Affairs at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and holds the traditional title of Asiwaju of Akure Kingdom, was lauded for his contributions to the growth of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, his roles in community development, and his impact as a federal lawmaker and Secretary to the State Government.

Governor Aiyedatiwa said, “Hon. Abegunde’s contributions to the development of Ondo State as a federal lawmaker and Secretary to the State Government and his efforts towards the growth of our party, the APC, will remain indelible. As the Director of Corporate Affairs of the Niger Delta Development Commission, his imprint on the recent reforms in the activities of the NDDC is a testament to his capacity and tenacity. On this special occasion, I wish him many more years in good health and sound mind.”

The Governor also celebrated Mr Bode Obanla on his 60th birthday, describing him as a devoted public servant and seasoned entrepreneur.

Obanla, who served as Senior Special Assistant on Community Engagement for the Ondo North Senatorial District, was commended for his dedication to grassroots mobilisation, responsiveness to community concerns, and fostering trust between government and citizens.

“During his time in office, Mr Obanla showed uncommon dedication to community engagement and remained responsive to the needs and aspirations of the people. His approach strengthened public trust and encouraged broader participation in governance, particularly at the grassroots level,” the Governor noted.

Highlighting Obanla’s entrepreneurial achievements, Governor Aiyedatiwa observed that as the founder of one of the largest fashion design workshops in Akure, he continues to empower young people through skills development, employment, and inspiration.

“I am confident that the years ahead will bring him fulfilment, prosperity and enduring impact,” the Governor said.

In closing, Governor Aiyedatiwa extended his best wishes to both celebrants, praying for good health, renewed strength, and continued success as they mark these significant milestones.
