Three daughters of the Managing Director of the Plateau State Water Board, Apollos Samchi, have been abducted by gunmen who attacked his residence in the Rantya area of Jos South Local Government Area of the state.
The incident was said to have occurred in the early hours of Monday when residents around Dumac Suites, Rantya, heard sporadic gunshots at about 12:53am.
A security source disclosed that the assailants allegedly forced their way into Samchi’s house and whisked away his daughters, identified as Nanlop, Kyenret and Favour.
The family’s security guard, Benard Makjwan, was reportedly shot in the stomach during the operation.
He was immediately taken to the Bingham University Teaching Hospital in Jos, where he is currently receiving treatment.
A security analyst, Zagazola Makama, who shared details of the incident on X on Monday, said an investigation had commenced.
Efforts, according to the source, are ongoing in collaboration with the military and other security agencies to rescue the abducted girls and track down those behind the attack.
