The Member of the House of Representatives representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, Hon. Festus Akingbaso, has called on residents of Odode, Idanre, to remain calm following the overturning of a petrol tanker near Doxology Store in the community.
Hon. Akingbaso urged residents to stay away from the scene of the incident, stressing that personnel of the fire service are already on ground and working assiduously to contain the situation and prevent any outbreak of fire or further danger to lives and property.
He reaffirmed that the recent revival and strengthening of the fire service in the constituency was aimed at ensuring swift emergency response in situations such as this, and commended the firefighters for their prompt intervention.
The lawmaker also called for cooperation and synergy between the fire service operatives and members of the host community, noting that public support and adherence to safety directives are critical to the successful management of emergencies.
Hon. Akingbaso disclosed that he has deployed a delegation to the scene to assist and complement the ongoing efforts of the fire service, while assuring constituents that all necessary steps are being taken to safeguard lives and property.

Ajayi Somi Joshua and also appealed to residents to avoid panic, shun misinformation, and allow trained emergency personnel to carry out their duties unhindered.
