Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested two suspected armed robbers and rescued an abducted woman during separate security operations in Mubi North and Hong Local Government Areas of Adamawa State.

The incidents were disclosed by a security analyst, Zagazola Makama, who cited sources within the security agencies.

According to him, the first operation occurred around 2:30 a.m. on January 29, following a distress call Barama community in Mubi North.

Troops were said to have swiftly mobilised to the area, where they intercepted two suspects allegedly attempting to rob a student of the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, in the students’ village.

One of the suspects was reportedly shot in the thigh while trying to confront the troops and was subsequently taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Mubi, for medical attention.

The suspectsectse since been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.

Items from recovered from them included three cutlasses, two laptops, four mobile phones and a power bank.

In a related development, Makama said troops, working with local vigilantes, carried out a fighting patrol along the Amtasa–Washim axis in Hong Local Government Area around noon on January 28. During the operation, the troops encountered terrorists, who fled after a brief engagement.

He added that the operation led to the rescue of a woman who had been abducted by the fleeing terrorists, while the surrounding area was thoroughly searched.

Recovered from the area were one AK-47 rifle with registration number 2056792, two rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one sub-machine gun and 42 rounds of ammunition.
