Some occupants of a residential building on Banana Island, Lagos, have cried out after being trapped inside an elevator for several minutes.
A video circulating on X on Monday, posted by a user identified as Anthony, showed the distressed residents sweating heavily while confined inside the lift.
The individual who shared the footage alleged that the incident occurred in an apartment complex located close to Banana Island School Apartment.
According to the post, the occupants had reportedly reached out to the landlord’s daughter for help but were told that the building management would “see what they could do.”
In the video caption, the user wrote, “We are currently stuck in the lift at Banana Island School Apartment. We have been here for almost 40 minutes.
“We are almost suffocating inside this place and no one appears to be doing anything about it.
“We contacted the landlady’s daughter and she said they would see what they could do. Can you imagine that?”
