Oyate community in the Oro-Ago area of Ifelodun Local Government, Kwara State, came under attack by armed bandits on Monday, just two weeks after a similar raid.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers, believed to have entered from neighbouring Kogi State, fired sporadically in an attempt to intimidate residents, but local security personnel successfully prevented major damage or casualties.

The community had previously resisted a raid during Friday prayers, underscoring growing concerns over repeated banditry in the area.

Security officials noted that the spate of attacks continues despite the Nigerian Army’s ‘Operation Savannah Shield’, aimed at tackling criminal activities across the state.

Authorities have advised residents to stay alert as security agencies step up patrols to safeguard vulnerable communities.
