Panic has gripped parts of Kwara South Senatorial District following threats by suspected terrorists to launch attacks on communities across three local government areas.
The alarm was raised in a statement issued on Saturday by the Coordinator of the Joint Security Watch in the district, Olaitan Zubair, who warned of looming security breaches.

According to the statement, intelligence reports indicated possible threats targeting parts of Kwara on March 23, with further concerns about planned attacks in Yorubaland from March 28, shortly after the Ramadan period.
“We wish to draw attention to reports of possible security threats in Kwara on March 23 and potential coordinated attacks in Yorubaland from March 28. There is a need for swift action and heightened vigilance to safeguard lives and property,” the statement partly read.
Zubair noted that the development had heightened fear among residents, stressing the need for security agencies to reassure the public and strengthen surveillance across vulnerable communities.
He urged authorities to act promptly to forestall any breach, adding that residents were increasingly anxious over their safety.
Efforts to obtain a response from the spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
