Tragedy struck in Adamawa State as a 22-year-old man, Daniel Samuel, died shortly after reporting a stabbing incident at a police station in Michika Local Government Area.

Samuel, a resident of Michika town, had on Sunday, April 12, approached officers at the Divisional Police Headquarters with visible stab wounds and bloodstains, alleging that two men attacked him.

He identified his assailants as Dakiyar Tumba, 23, and Sini Luka, 31, both said to reside in the same area. According to the victim, the suspects stabbed him in the back with a knife during the assault.

The Adamawa State Police Command confirmed the incident, noting that officers promptly responded by rushing the injured man to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed in a statement issued in Yola that the victim’s remains had been deposited in the morgue for autopsy.

Nguroje added that the two suspects had been apprehended in connection with alleged conspiracy and culpable homicide, while the weapon used in the attack had been recovered as evidence.

He further stated that the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, had condemned the killing and ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department to carry out a thorough investigation and ensure diligent prosecution of the case.
