The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced that results of candidates who sat for the opening day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination will be released before midnight on Friday.
The board disclosed this in a statement issued by its Public Communication Adviser, Fabian Benjamin, assuring candidates that processing of the results was nearing completion.
According to the examination body, candidates who participated in the test on Thursday, April 16, would be able to check their results later in the day once all necessary procedures had been finalised.
The statement read in part, “Candidates who sat for the 2026 UTME on Thursday, April 16, are to note that their results will be released today before midnight.”
JAMB added that a formal announcement would be made عبر its official platforms immediately the results are released.
The 2026 UTME commenced nationwide on Thursday, with over 2.2 million candidates expected to sit for the examination across accredited Computer-Based Test centres between April 16 and April 22.
The board noted that the staggered scheduling of the examination in multiple sessions daily was designed to reduce congestion at centres and strengthen identity verification processes.
Candidates were advised to keep track of updates through JAMB’s official communication channels as the release process progresses.
