A Nigerian passenger, Alhaji Isiaq Dahunsi, has died aboard an international flight from Istanbul, Türkiye, to Lagos.

The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Monday as the aircraft was en route to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

The death was made public by an associate of the deceased, Ishola Isiaq, an Imam with the Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, in a Facebook post on Monday.

According to the cleric, Dahunsi passed away mid-flight while returning to Nigeria from Türkiye.

“I lost a childhood friend, Alhaji Isiaq Dahunsi, this morning on his way back from Istanbul to Lagos. He died inside the flight,” he wrote.

He also offered prayers for the deceased, asking God to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest.

As of the time of filing this report, details surrounding the cause of death and the airline involved had yet to be disclosed.
