A video circulating on social media has sparked outrage after some officers of the Nigeria Police Force were seen allegedly harassing a member of the National Youth Service Corps in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
In the footage, shared on X on Tuesday by a user identified as #ChuksEricE, a corps member was seen being forcefully pulled by uniformed policemen in front of a school, drawing the attention of passersby.
Two other corps members in uniform were also present at the scene as the incident unfolded, with onlookers watching and reacting.
The individual behind the camera, who claimed to have witnessed the encounter, openly criticised the officers, accusing them of targeting young people unjustly.
He also alleged that the policemen attempted to seize his phone while he recorded the incident, prompting further resistance from bystanders who urged him to continue filming.
Voices captured in the background encouraged the recording of the officers’ actions for public scrutiny, while the eyewitness repeatedly warned the corps member against accompanying the policemen.
The circumstances surrounding the confrontation could not be immediately ascertained, but the video has since triggered widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians condemning the conduct of the officers and calling for accountability.
