The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has paraded three suspected criminals over alleged involvement in motorcycle theft and violent attacks.
The command disclosed this in a statement on Friday by its Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Corps Umar Mohammad, noting that the suspects were arrested at different locations following credible intelligence.
According to the statement, two of the suspects, Bashir Hassan, 20, and Taminu Muhammed, 25, were apprehended at Nassarawa Burkullu Market for allegedly stealing a Boxer motorcycle.
The duo were said to have forcefully dispossessed the rider of the motorcycle while threatening him with a knife.
The NSCDC further revealed that the third suspect, Abdulrashid Abubakar, allegedly employed a deceptive tactic to lure a motorcyclist to an undisclosed destination.
Upon arrival, he reportedly attacked the rider with a machete in a bid to make away with the motorcycle.
However, the suspect was intercepted and arrested by operatives of the corps before he could flee with the stolen property.
The command stated that all three suspects are currently in custody and would be prosecuted upon the conclusion of investigations.
It also urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities, assuring the public of its commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
