Fresh fears have emerged over the abduction of teachers and pupils in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State after another video surfaced online showing one of the captives, a nursing mother, pleading emotionally for help.

The woman, identified as Temitope, a staff member of First Baptist Church School, Ogbomosho, was seen clutching her baby while appealing to the Federal Government, the Oyo State Government and President Bola Tinubu to secure their release.

Speaking tearfully in the footage, she recounted how gunmen stormed the school premises and whisked away teachers and pupils during the attack.

“I am Temitope from Ibadan. I work at First Baptist Church School, Ogbomosho.

Yesterday, gunmen invaded our school and kidnapped staff and students. We are begging for help so that we can regain our freedom,” she said amid sobs.

She also appealed directly to President Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde to intensify efforts toward rescuing the victims safely.

The latest video surfaced days after another captive, Mrs Rachael Alamu, the principal of Community High School, Esiele, released a separate plea from captivity.

Alamu had called on the Federal Government, Governor Makinde and the Christian Association of Nigeria to intervene urgently and ensure the safe return of the abducted victims.

The victims were reportedly kidnapped last Friday when armed assailants invaded schools in the Oriire axis, abducting seven teachers and 39 pupils in the coordinated attack.

Security agencies said rescue operations were ongoing, with combined teams of police and military personnel combing forest areas around the Old Oyo National Park in search of the abductors.

Reports from the scene earlier indicated that an assistant headmaster, Joel Adesiyan, was shot dead during the invasion, while the attackers also carted away several motorcycles before fleeing into nearby forests.
