The Kebbi State Hisbah Board has arrested four persons, including a woman, during a raid on a hotel in Birnin Kebbi over alleged involvement in immoral activities.
The suspects, made up of three men and one woman, were apprehended at Summit Guest Inn Hotel located in the Old Garage area of the state capital.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the Director of Legal Affairs of the Kebbi State Hisbah Board, Surajo Usman Kamba.
According to the statement, the female suspect allegedly travelled from Gulma town to Birnin Kebbi to meet her boyfriend, who reportedly came from Argungu.
Kamba disclosed that two other male suspects believed to be linked to the incident were also arrested during the operation carried out by operatives of the board.
He explained that the raid formed part of the board’s ongoing efforts to tackle social vices and uphold moral standards across the state.
The Hisbah official urged youths to shun acts considered immoral and conduct themselves in accordance with religious and societal values.
He, however, did not state whether the suspects would be arraigned before a court for prosecution.
