The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has concluded its House of Assembly primary elections with the announcement of results from the remaining nine constituencies, even as the party begins reconciliation moves to address grievances among aggrieved aspirants.

Chairman of the House of Assembly Election Committee, Olajide Mathew Olamilekan, announced the final batch of results, noting that 17 constituencies had earlier been concluded before the remaining outcomes were submitted by returning officers.

In Odigbo Constituency 2, Atoyebi Grace Aderonke emerged winner with 3,103 votes, defeating Fasonu Babatunde, who polled 477 votes.

In Odigbo Constituency 1, Tunji Rhema secured the ticket with 6,910 votes, while Fabiyi Samuel Olatunji scored 561 votes.

For Akoko North West Constituency 1, Tiamiyu Fatai Atere won convincingly with 7,017 votes against Tope Balogun, who polled 146 votes.

In Akoko North West Constituency 2, Aliu Lateef Victor clinched the ticket with 2,767 votes. Other contenders included Akerele Olayinka (570 votes), Sumonu Tiamiyu (198 votes), Ijabiyi Kehinde (18 votes), and Ibrahim Oladotun (14 votes).

Gbenga Omole emerged winner in Akoko South West Constituency 1 with 4,648 votes, defeating Daudu Oluwatoyin Raymond, who scored 921 votes.

In Akoko South West Constituency 2, Olanusi Olaniran secured victory with 4,811 votes.

For Akoko North East Constituency, Ogunyemi Olumiyiwa won with 8,210 votes, ahead of Japhet Victor Toyin (2,700 votes) and Olabode Akinlola (200 votes).

In Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Constituency, Rotimi Akinwande polled 3,057 votes to defeat Bosede Akinboyede, who garnered 1,442 votes.

In Owo Constituency 1, Olawande Toyosi Okoro emerged victorious with 4,976 votes.

Speaking after the announcement, Ondo State APC Chairman, Babatunde Kolawole, described the direct primary system as a democratic process that allowed party members to freely choose their representatives.

Kolawole said the exercise had produced winners across Senate, House of Representatives and State Assembly levels, but stressed that all participants remain important stakeholders in the party structure.

He noted that the outcome should not be interpreted as a division between victors and losers, but as part of the democratic process where only one candidate can emerge per position.

The party chairman disclosed that reconciliation mechanisms would be immediately activated to address grievances arising from the primaries and promote unity within the party.

According to him, reconciliation committees will be set up to engage dissatisfied aspirants and their supporters with a view to strengthening internal cohesion ahead of future elections.

Kolawole also revealed that the party has shifted focus to the forthcoming presidential election, noting that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa had charged members to mobilise one million votes for the President in the state.

He emphasised that achieving the target would require unity, coordination and sustained grassroots mobilisation across all structures of the party.

The APC chairman added that despite efforts by opposition parties to gain ground in Ondo State, the ruling party remains confident of securing victory in the presidential poll through strategic organisation and broad-based support.
