In continuation of his support for widows of deceased journalists in Ondo State, the Chief Press Secretary to the state Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Tuesday distributed another round of stipends to beneficiaries under his widows’ welfare initiative.
The latest intervention, which is the seventh edition of the programme, is targeted at widows of members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council.News media analysis
Adeniyan presented the cheque to the Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ondo State Chapter, Comrade Tola Gbadamosi, at his office in Akure for onward distribution to the beneficiaries.
The initiative has become a regular support scheme for widows of deceased journalists in the state, providing financial assistance and relief to the families of media practitioners who have passed away.
Responding, Comrade Gbadamosi expressed appreciation to the Chief Press Secretary for sustaining the gesture, describing it as a demonstration of compassion and commitment to the welfare of the widows.Nigerian politics analysis
She noted that the intervention had continued to provide support and encouragement to the beneficiaries while also serving as a source of hope for their families.
The NAWOJ chairperson prayed for Adeniyan, asking God to reward his generosity with good health, greater accomplishments, and continued success in his endeavours.
She also assured him that the funds would be delivered to the intended beneficiaries.
