Several suspected terrorists were reportedly killed during an air operation conducted by troops under Operation FANSAN YANMA in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Security sources disclosed that the operation was carried out on Monday following intelligence reports on the movement of suspected terrorists within the Kidandan axis of the local government area.
According to information shared by security analyst Zagazola Makama on his official X handle on Tuesday, an aerial surveillance platform was deployed to conduct an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance mission across the area.
During the operation, four suspected terrorists riding motorcycles were initially spotted and placed under close monitoring by the air crew.
The surveillance team later tracked two additional motorcycles moving along a route believed to be linked to a terrorist gathering point.
The movement of the suspects reportedly led security operatives to a hideout situated on elevated terrain within the operational area.
Sources said the surveillance aircraft maintained observation of the location before a precision air strike was launched on the target.
The strike reportedly neutralised several suspected terrorists, while others escaped from the area.
Security sources described the operation as a significant success in ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist activities and dismantle criminal hideouts in the North-West region.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the operation as of the time of filing this report.
