The Embassy of Ireland in Nigeria has opened applications for the 2026 Ireland Fellows Programme, offering qualified Nigerians the opportunity to pursue fully funded Master’s degree programmes at top universities in Ireland.
In a statement released on Friday via its official X account, the embassy said the application portal would open on June 29, 2026, for eligible early and mid-career professionals from Nigeria and Ghana.
According to the embassy, the fellowship provides successful applicants with the opportunity to undertake a one-year postgraduate programme in Ireland, with all major academic and living expenses covered.
It urged interested candidates to take advantage of the programme, describing it as an opportunity to study in Ireland on a fully funded scholarship.
The embassy stated that detailed information on eligibility requirements, available courses and the application process could be obtained through the official Ireland Fellows Programme portal.
To qualify, applicants must be citizens and residents of either Nigeria or Ghana, possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with at least a Second Class Lower division, and have no fewer than three years of relevant professional work experience.
It added that Nigerian applicants would also be eligible for the Roger Casement Fellowship in Human Rights, a specialised scholarship supporting postgraduate studies in Law, Human Rights and Governance.
Successful candidates will receive a comprehensive funding package covering tuition fees, monthly stipends, accommodation support, health insurance, visa costs and return airfare throughout the duration of their studies.
The embassy said applications would remain open from June 29 to July 26, 2026, and encouraged qualified candidates to submit their entries through the official Ireland Fellows Programme website before the deadline.
