The Federal Road Safety Corps has announced that its 2026 nationwide recruitment exercise will commence on Friday, July 3, with qualified Nigerians invited to apply for vacancies across its officer, marshal inspectorate and road marshal assistant cadres.

According to a recruitment notice issued by the corps, interested candidates will have four weeks to complete and submit their applications through the agency’s official online recruitment portal.

The notice, dated June 24 and signed by the Deputy Corps Marshal in charge of Administration and Human Resources, Pauline Olaye, on behalf of the Corps Marshal, emphasised that the recruitment process is completely free.

The corps cautioned applicants against paying money to anyone, stressing that no fees are required at any stage of the exercise.

It also disclosed that only applications submitted through its official recruitment portal would be accepted, while shortlisted candidates would be expected to present printed copies of their application forms during the screening exercise.

The recruitment exercise covers three categories: the Officer Cadre, Marshal Inspectorate Cadre and Road Marshal Assistant Cadre.

Under the Officer Cadre, vacancies are available for Superintendent Route Commanders, Route Commanders/Deputy Route Commanders and Assistant Route Commanders. Eligible applicants include medical doctors, pharmacists, nurses, medical laboratory scientists, lawyers, engineers and holders of B.Sc., BA and HND qualifications, depending on the position. Applicants for these roles must be between 18 and 35 years of age.

For the Marshal Inspectorate Cadre, candidates with qualifications such as the National Diploma, Ordinary National Diploma, Nigeria Certificate in Education, Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife and Community Health Extension Worker certificates are eligible to apply. Applicants in this category must be between 18 and 30 years old.

The Road Marshal Assistant Cadre is open to candidates with a minimum of three credits in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination, including English Language and Mathematics. Artisans and skilled workers, including mechanics, electricians, plumbers, computer operators, tailors, motorcycle riders and drivers with relevant trade qualifications and valid licences, are also encouraged to apply.

The corps added that applicants seeking driver and rider positions must possess the appropriate category of valid driver’s licence, while candidates applying as articulated vehicle or tow-truck drivers must be between 26 and 40 years old.

The FRSC further outlined its general requirements, stating that applicants must be Nigerians by birth, computer literate, medically fit and unmarried. They must also possess the required educational qualifications and professional certifications where necessary.

It stated that male applicants must have a minimum height of 1.65 metres, while female applicants must be at least 1.58 metres tall.

The corps advised applicants to disclose all educational qualifications and certificates during the application process, warning that undeclared qualifications would not be recognised for future career advancement.

It also stated that prospective applicants must have good character, be free from financial indebtedness, have no criminal record and must not have tattoos on any part of their bodies.

Applicants were further advised to use their personal email addresses and telephone numbers throughout the application process.

The corps also discouraged pregnant women from participating in the recruitment exercise.

Reiterating its warning against fraud, the FRSC urged members of the public to disregard anyone demanding payment for employment, maintaining that the recruitment exercise is entirely free.

The corps advised applicants seeking further information to contact its official helpline by calling 122.
