A 40 year-old man, Jamilu Yusuf, was on Wednesday arraigned in a Kano Sharia Court for allegedly swindling his business partner of N350,000.

Mr Yusuf, who resides at Walawa, Danguguwa in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area in Kano, is charged with criminal breach of trust, cheating and mischief.

The defendant, however, pleaded guilty to the charge.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Abdullahi Wada, told the court that the complainant, Rabiu Muhammed, who resides at Unguwar Dabai Quarters, reported the matter at Dala Area Command Police Station in the state on August 20.

Mr Wada said that Mr Muhammed entrusted 19 sacks of onions worth N1.2 million to the defendant to help him sell in his village.

He said that when the complainant asked for his money, the defendant only gave him N850, 000 out of the N1.2 million.

The prosecutor added that when the complainant asked the defendant for the balance, he refused to give him.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 202 and 206 of the Penal Code.

The Judge,Umar Lawal-Abubakar, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N80, 000 with one reliable surety, who must be a blood relation.

He adjourned the case until September 17 for summary trial.
