Two Female Students from Lokoja Institutions Die in Tragic Road Accident
A fatal road accident in Lokoja on Friday morning claimed the lives of two female students—one from the Federal University, Lokoja, and the other from Kogi State Polytechnic.
According to reports, the accident occurred along the Felele axis of Lokoja, where both institutions are located. A heavily loaded articulated vehicle, en route to Abuja, reportedly lost control and crashed into a tricycle (popularly known as Keke NAPEP) carrying passengers heading to the city center.
Sources confirmed that the two students were among the passengers in the tricycle. While the students died on the spot, two other passengers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
The victims were identified through their school identification cards recovered at the scene.
The tragic incident has once again highlighted the dangers of road traffic in the Felele area, a frequent site of accidents involving heavy vehicles.
