Ex-Kogi Deputy Speaker, Enema Paul, Passes Away in Abuja

The former Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Enema Paul, has passed away.

His death was confirmed by the Speaker of the House, Aliyu Yusuf, in a statement released on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mohammed Yabagi. Paul reportedly died in a private hospital in Abuja during the early hours of Saturday after battling an undisclosed illness.

Speaker Yusuf expressed his condolences to the family of the late lawmaker, describing Paul as a humble, dedicated, and collaborative public servant. He praised the former Deputy Speaker for his commitment to the unity of Kogi State and his efforts to promote people-oriented legislation.

The statement also highlighted Paul’s strong Christian faith and unwavering dedication to family values.

“We pray that God grants his family, as well as members of the current and past Assemblies, the strength to bear this great loss,” Yusuf added.

Before his death, Enema Paul represented the Okura State Constituency in the 8th Assembly. He resigned as Deputy Speaker due to health issues and was succeeded by Comfort Nwuchiola, representing the Ibaji State Constituency.
