Former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has debunked claims suggesting he has left the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or any opposition party.
In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday, El-Rufai urged Nigerians to dismiss the reports, branding them as “patent lies.”
He stated, “Please, disregard the patent lies and rumours about my political affiliation. I have referred the lead peddlers of the fake news for further action by my lawyers.”
The rumors had suggested El-Rufai was working with prominent political figures to establish a coalition strong enough to challenge the APC in the 2027 elections.
El-Rufai also hinted at taking legal measures against those spreading the misinformation.
This comes amid heightened political activities as various camps strategize for the 2027 general elections.
