Police arraign man for stealing two phones in Ekiti
The Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned one Ogunrinde Temitope, 38, before a State Chief Magistrate Court, Ado Ekiti District, for allegedly stealing two phones.
The prosecutor, Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court on Thursday that “the defendant on January 6, 2025, at about 3 am at the Ado Community area in Ado Ekiti Magisterial District did steal an iPhone 7 valued at N200,000 — a property of Oso Samuel.”
He added that Temitope also stole an “iPhone 12 Pro valued at N480,000, property of one Bakare Simbiat” on the same date and place at about 4 am.
“The offence committed is punishable under Section 302 Law of Ekiti State of Nigeria 2021,” the prosecutor said.
The defendant’s counsel, O.G Abiola, urged the court to admit his client to bail, saying, “He would not jump bail.”

The case was adjourned till February 6, 2025, for a hearing.
PUNCH Online reported that the State High Court, Ado Ekiti Division, had before now sentenced 26-year-old Omodara Dada to seven years imprisonment for burglary.
Dada was charged in court for robbing the owner of a N64,000 phone and N8,000 cash while armed with a knife in 2022.
He was arraigned before Justice Lekan Ogunmoye on July 19, 2022, on a count charge of armed robbery contrary to Section 312 (2) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2011.
According to the charge, “The convict on February 13, 2022, at Ado Ekiti, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, did rob one Fakiyesi Tope of his black Infinix Hot 8 phone valued at N64,000 and a cash sum of N8,000.
“At the time of the robbery, he was armed with a knife.”
