OPC members, motorcycle riders clash in,Ekiti six arrested
Violence erupted in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, on Thursday, as members of the Oodua People Congress (OPC) clashed with motorcycle riders, resulting in several injuries.
The confrontation stemmed from the death of a commercial motorcycle ticketing officer in the area, with Okada riders accusing an OPC member of being responsible.
Tensions escalated as the groups attacked each other with knives, cutlasses, and machetes.
Witnesses reported the chaotic scene, where the violent clash left multiple people injured.
In response, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Ekiti State Police quickly intervened.
Police spokesperson Abutu Sunday confirmed that six individuals have been arrested in connection with the violence.
He stated, “Operatives of the RRS were deployed to the area, where six suspects were apprehended. They are currently undergoing investigation, and efforts are underway to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang.”
