Oluremi Tinubu consoles Gov Namadi, wife over loss of son

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, has paid a condolence visit to Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State and his wife Hadiza Namadi following the tragic death of their son, Abdulwahab.

Accompanied by Nana Shettima, wife of the Vice President, and Fatima Abass, wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the First Lady expressed her sympathy and support to the grieving family. She offered words of comfort, saying that the length of life is determined by God alone, and no one can question His will.

In a statement released on Saturday by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi, Mrs. Tinubu was quoted as saying, “God owns us all. God assigns time to each of us, and He can call anyone home at any time. May God console you and the entire state. I pray my next visit here will be for a joyous occasion.”

Governor Namadi, in his response, thanked the First Lady for her thoughtful and personal visit, which he described as the highest form of condolence. He acknowledged that the deaths of his son and his mother, who passed away the day before, were the will of God, and he and his family had accepted it.

The governor also expressed his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, who personally called him following the tragic events, as did the First Lady.

During the visit, the wife of the Vice President offered prayers for the grieving family and for the state.

Governor Namadi’s mother, Maryam Namadi, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, after an illness, while his son, Abdulwahab, died in a car accident on Thursday, December 26, at the age of 24.
