Police launch manhunt for lovers for allegedly killing Chinese

The Ogun State Police Command said it has launched a manhunt for a man named Jonah and his unidentified girlfriend for allegedly stabbing a Chinese national, Chen Wang, to death.

The spokesperson for the command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed this to newsmen in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

Odutola said Wang, a 33-year-old expatriate and manager of Fujiada Electronics Technology Company Ltd., was allegedly killed in his office about noon on Sunday.

She stated Mr. Akosile Akinsanmi, the manager of the company located on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, reported the incident to the Ogere Police Division shortly after it occurred.

It was further learned that while the company’s workers were on their routine break, Jonah, with his girlfriend, allegedly entered the office of the Chinese national, stabbed him and fled the scene.

Odutola said: “The company’s manager stated that about noon on January 12, during the workers’ break, a man named Jonah, whose last name is unknown, with his unidentified girlfriend, both of whom are still at large, entered the office of Chen Wang and fatally stabbed him.

“Detectives from the Ogere Police Division conducted a scene investigation, during which photographs of the deceased were taken. The body has been transferred to the Babcock University Teaching Hospital for a postmortem examination.

“A preliminary investigation is ongoing and the case will soon be handed over to the SCID for a more detailed inquiry.”
