Today, the people of Fufore and Song Federal Constituency in Adamawa State gathered to witness the flag-off of the rehabilitation of the Jabbi Lamba, Malabu, Sarau, and Belel Road, a vital artery linking Nigeria to the Republic of Cameroon. The event, marked by optimism and gratitude, was spearheaded by Honourable (Barr.) Aliyu Wakili Boya, the Member of the House of Representatives representing the constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Police Institutions.

Dignitaries, community leaders, and constituents alike showered praise on Hon. Boya for his relentless dedication to bringing hope and development to his people.

In his welcome address, Hon. Boya highlighted the significance of the 85-kilometer road project, which has been neglected for over two decades. “This road has been a lifeline for our agrarian communities, yet its deplorable state has hindered economic activities, limited access to services, and endangered lives,” he stated.

He recalled sponsoring a motion a year ago on the floor of the House to investigate the delays in its rehabilitation, a promise he made to his constituents during his campaign. “Today, I bring to you another infrastructural development to our constituency,” he proudly declared, attributing the progress to divine intervention and the support of key stakeholders.

The road project, budgeted at 20 billion Naira in 2024 and an additional 25 billion Naira approved for 2025, aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at enhancing economic growth through infrastructure. With contractors already mobilized, Boya expressed confidence in their ability to deliver within the 36-month timeline, urging them to adhere to specifications.

Eulogies Pour In for Hon. Boya
The event was not just a celebration of a road project but a testament to Hon. Boya’s unwavering commitment to his people. Dignitaries and constituents took turns to eulogize the lawmaker for his transformative leadership.

Hon. (Sir.) Abubakar Abdullahi Abubakar Bichi, Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations and a representative of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Tajuddeen Abbas, Ph.D., described Boya as “the backbone of this project” and a tireless advocate for his constituents. “His passion for the development of Fufore and Song is unmatched. We are proud to stand with him today,” Bichi said.

The Emir of Fufore, His Royal Highness, commended Boya’s foresight and persistence. “For 20 years, this road has been a burden to our people. Today, we see light because of Hon. Boya’s efforts. He is a son we are proud of,” the traditional ruler remarked.

Local farmer Hassan Usman from Jabbi Lamba shared his gratitude: “This road means everything to us. We can now take our produce to markets without losing half to bad roads. Hon. Boya has given us hope when we had none.”

Representing the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, Engr. Folorunsho Esan, Director of Highways, Construction and Rehabilitation, praised Boya’s collaborative spirit. “His personal engagement with the Ministry ensured this project saw the light of day. He is a leader who delivers.”

A Legacy of Empowerment
Beyond infrastructure, Hon. Boya’s impact resonates through his empowerment initiatives. In November 2024, he facilitated a mega empowerment program benefiting 12,000 constituents, followed by a supplementary program for 500 more, distributing cars, motorcycles, sewing machines, grinding machines, water pumps, and cash. Earlier in January 2025, he partnered with Alh. Bamanga Daware to distribute farming and women empowerment resources, further cementing his reputation as a grassroots champion.

A Visionary Leader
Born in 1978, Hon. Aliyu Wakili Boya has risen from Chairman of Fufore Local Government and head of the All Local Governments Organisation of Nigeria (ALGON) in Adamawa State to a formidable voice in the National Assembly. His legal background and political acumen have fueled his ability to navigate bureaucratic hurdles and secure tangible benefits for his people.

As the ceremony concluded, Boya thanked his constituents for their prayers and support, assuring them that “2025 will be a better year.” With the “Boya Moving Train,” as his supporters affectionately call his developmental strides, the people of Fufore and Song have found a leader who not only promises hope but delivers it in concrete terms.
