Jandor meets Tinubu, Atiku, others after PDP exit

The 2023 Lagos State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has begun consultations with key political figures following his resignation from the PDP.

Jandor recently met with President Bola Tinubu, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former President Ibrahim Babangida, and former Head of State Gen.

Abdulsalami Abubakar. He also held talks with the 2023 presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, among other national leaders.

His spokesperson, Gbenga Ogunleye, confirmed the meetings in a statement on Thursday, noting that the meeting with President Tinubu took place on Monday.

According to Ogunleye, Jandor will meet with his political associates and key stakeholders in Lagos over the weekend and is expected to address the media on Monday, March 17, 2025.

Meanwhile, some PDP leaders, including the party’s National Secretary, have visited him in an effort to persuade him to reconsider his decision to leave the party.

Jandor, however, has not announced his next political move. In his resignation, he cited internal party indiscipline and alleged anti-party activities, accusing the PDP national leadership of undermining his chances during the 2023 election.

He claimed a last-minute false alliance narrative cost him victory by diverting votes to another candidate.
