The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended a suspect involved in illegal oil bunkering activities.
According to the NSCDC, the arrest followed the interception of a large boat transporting stolen crude oil.
Officials of the corps also seized and destroyed the vessel, along with a massive container filled with an unquantified volume of illegally acquired crude oil.
A statement released by the NSCDC on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, confirmed the operation, stating:
“Arrest of one suspect, confiscation and destruction of a large boat containing illegally acquired crude oil and a large pour-put reservoir filled with unquantifiable volume of stolen crude oil.”
