Governor Caleb Mutfwang has vowed that those responsible for recent violence in Plateau State will not escape justice.

In a statewide broadcast addressing the attacks, the governor condemned the bloodshed and promised strong action to protect the people.

“As your governor, I remain resolute—Plateau will not bow to fear, and we will not accept violence as a norm,” he said.

“We are known for peace, unity, and hospitality, and no one will succeed in dividing us.

Plateau will rise again and continue to flourish.”

Addressing the perpetrators and their backers directly, he warned, “You may try to run, but you will not hide.

Justice will catch up with you. Plateau will stand strong and prevail.”

Governor Mutfwang outlined measures being taken to prevent further violence and assured residents that his administration remains committed to its constitutional duty of protecting lives and property.

“To ensure greater security, we are strengthening community-based response systems,” he announced.

“I urge traditional rulers and youth leaders to reactivate local vigilante groups and organize coordinated night patrols with security agencies.”

The governor also introduced new restrictions aimed at curbing movement linked to criminal activities, effective Wednesday, April 16:

Night grazing of cattle is now prohibited.

Transportation of cattle by vehicle is banned after 7:00 p.m.

Motorcycle use is restricted from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. statewide until further notice.

Mutfwang emphasized that these steps are necessary to restore calm and uphold the rule of law throughout Plateau State.
