A 27-year-old housewife, Rukayat Sodiq, has been remanded at the Agodi correctional facility by the Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan over the alleged murder of her 64-year-old husband, Abiodun Ibironke.
The incident reportedly occurred on March 27 during an altercation at their residence in the Akinrinmisi area of Amuloko, Ibadan.
According to the prosecution, Sodiq struck her husband on the head with a stick, which allegedly led to his death.
Magistrate T.G. Daodu declined to take her plea due to lack of jurisdiction and ordered her remand pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution.
The case was adjourned to May 22 for mention.
