A fire broke out early Monday morning at a four-bedroom residence located at No. 1 Happiness Close, Akufo Estate, in the Elebu area of Ibadan.
According to Yemi Akinyinka, General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, the blaze started around 1:13 a.m. and was caused by an overheated solar panel.
The heat reportedly ignited nearby combustible materials, leading to the fire.
Firefighters responded swiftly after receiving a distress call and were able to contain the flames, preventing the fire from spreading to neighboring buildings.
The occupants of the home were safely rescued, and no injuries or fatalities were reported.
