A newlywed woman, identified as Saudat, has been taken into custody by security operatives in Kano State following allegations that she poisoned and fatally stabbed her husband, Salisu, just two days after their wedding.
The tragic incident occurred Tuesday night in the Farawa community, shortly after the couple’s wedding ceremony on Sunday.
Local sources claim the marriage was arranged by their families and lacked emotional connection between the couple.
It is alleged that Salisu had initially been reluctant about the marriage but was convinced to go ahead with it.
Tensions reportedly flared in the community after news of the killing spread, prompting some youths to attempt mob action.
However, police intervened and arrested the suspect before the situation escalated further.
As of now, authorities have not released an official statement regarding the case.
