The Ondo State Government has dismissed claims of irregularities in the recently concluded recruitment exercise carried out by the State Universal Basic Education Board (ODSUBEB) and the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), insisting that the process was transparent and followed due process.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Head of Service, Bayo Philip, clarified that the recruitment of teachers into public primary and secondary schools across the state was conducted in a credible, fraud-free manner, leading to the emergence of qualified candidates based on merit.

The government also raised alarm over reports that some unsuspecting applicants are being defrauded by individuals falsely claiming they can secure employment slots for a fee.

It warned members of the public to be cautious and avoid falling victim to such fraudulent schemes.

Philip reiterated that the entire recruitment process has been concluded, with appointment letters already issued to successful candidates.

He emphasized that the exercise was conducted at no financial cost to applicants and urged job seekers not to engage with anyone soliciting bribes or payments under the guise of offering employment.

“The public is strongly advised not to offer bribes or inducements to anyone claiming to have influence over employment into ODSUBEB, TESCOM, or any other government agency,” the statement read in part.

The Head of Service assured that the government would not be responsible for any illegal transactions between individuals and fraudsters posing as officials.
